SELCP – Council Partnerships

SELCP is a partnership between East Lindsay, South Holland and Boston councils. Though it is wonderful that they are bringing these communities together, what does this mean for the future of Lincolnshire?

SELCP’s aims are to improve their communities, for example in 2022 Boston was voted the “most unhappiest place to live in the UK” with Lincoln not far behind. However, they aim to change their behaviour, operate effectively in their service, improve reputation of management of staff members, and explain policies in much more detail.

So, what are they organising to show they value their new principles? As of recently they have received funding to support their ambition through the Arts Council’s National Portfolio Organisation scheme and have released a 12-month program which includes the recent Sutton on Sea Light Night and the up-and-coming Boston Brilliance.

All of this is overseen but a new Culture Board which is in place to make sure that the resources are used strategically. Their goal being to create more opportunities for the creative community and for the local arts to work, live and create in Boston.

We’ll be tracking the events and progress of the SELCP and the Culture Board over the course of the 12 month program plan.
